About Me

Cathy Powers here. The good news is that I haven’t given up. I‘m still holding on to my faith and continuing to navigate this sometimes difficult and complicated life. One thing for sure is that GRIEF has been a profound, total life-changer. With that, I realize the only hope and inspiration I can possibly offer anyone is to simply share my faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He cares about each of us as individuals. He knows our true condition, what’s hidden in our hearts and thoughts, and He chooses to love us anyway. This is the kind of love that gives hope to the brokenhearted. At the end of the day when night falls I know He is always with me and It’s incredible to be loved by the Creator of the Universe. It’s a great reminder that regardless of how I sometimes feel, I am never really alone.

If you're interested in what it takes to become a Christian here are the steps I took... To accept Jesus today, simply admit that you are a sinner and believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for all your sins. Personally pray to Jesus and repent for all your wrongdoings and invite Him into your life. We don’t need fancy words or rituals, just a repentant heart that wants a personal relationship with Jesus. It’s so important that we recognize that we need to be saved—we need salvation from Jesus who paid the ultimate price for each of our sins—and we need to trust in Jesus as our Savior from this moment on. It’s the single most important and best decision I have ever made.

Accepting Jesus is the beginning of a new life. Pray often, literally talk to Him daily about anything and everything. Make an effort to turn away from sin, realizing we are all human and not able to ever be good enough on our own. Get yourself a Bible and read it at your own pace. Start with the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke and John—so you can learn more about the life, teachings, and character of Jesus. They will help to increase your faith and understanding as these four books document the foundational events of Christianity—Jesus' birth, ministry, death on the cross, and resurrection. With all this, remember to love, love, love, and forgive, forgive, forgive, yourself and others along your journey. I hope and pray God blesses you with overflowing hope, grace and peace from this day forward.

Love, Cathy
